Hosted inside Galaxy FBO hangars & the tarmac at the Addison Airport, the event featured a spirited culinary competition where talented high school culinary students showcased their skills by creating their best “Taste Bite” creations in front of guests and judges. The competition highlighted the next generation of culinary talent while providing students with valuable real-world experience and exposure.
This year’s celebrity judging panel included Addison Mayor Bruce Arfsten, Carrollton Mayor Steve Babick, Coppell Mayor Wes Mays, and Farmers Branch Mayor Terry Lynne, who helped select the evening’s top culinary honors.

Plano East High School earned the top award for their outstanding culinary presentation, while Ranchview High School captured the crowd’s support and took home the People’s Choice Award.
Guests also enjoyed live cooking demonstrations and tastings from Chef Marshall along with renowned local chef Richard Chamberlain of Chamberlain’s Steak & Fish, adding even more flavor and entertainment to the evening. More importantly, Taste on the Tarmac continued its mission of supporting the community through the Metrocrest Services Sack Summer Hunger Program, which helps provide meals for children in need throughout the summer months.
Galaxy FBO extends its gratitude to the many sponsors and partners who helped make the event possible, including the Texas Restaurant Foundation for providing ingredient stipends to participating schools, Uncommon Chef for supplying chefs’ coats for all student participants, Cantina Laredo for providing competition supplies, and Lazy Dog for sponsoring the Student Lounge.
As one of the premier culinary and community events held at Addison Airport each year, Taste on the Tarmac once again demonstrated how aviation, hospitality, and community can come together for a meaningful cause.
